How do I use the Zagan voice in the xAI API?

Send a POST request to https://api.x.ai/v1/tts with "voice_id": "zagan" in the JSON body, along with the text and a language code (or "auto"). The response is the audio file. The same id works as the voice of a Grok Voice 3.0 speech-to-speech session.

Can Zagan speak languages other than English?

About the Zagan voice

A newer built-in Grok voice; featured by xAI in the expressive-voice showcase on its Voice API page.

Zagan is one of the 23 voices xAI added when it expanded the Grok Voice API lineup, so you will not find it in the Grok app's voice picker; it is API-only. We suggest trying it first for mystery, horror narration, but every Grok voice handles every kind of text; the samples above let you judge in seconds.
